Booking Your Driving Lessons

We like to be as flexible as we can with our driving lessons, however, with so many young learners eager to get their licence, we sometimes find ourselves fully booked weeks in advance!

You’ll find this is the same with most driving instructors in Peterborough. You can use the booking system below to make an initial inquiry and, if we can book you in, great! If not, we will come back with alternative time that will suit you.

Now booking driving lessons for August 2020!

Why book with us?

We tailor your driving lessons from start to finish to make sure we’re accommodating of your experience, driving style, confidence and local knowledge. We’ll make sure you are 100% confident in the driver’s seat before you book your driving test.

Our students have an unbelievable success rate – one of the best in Peterborough. As an independent driving instructor, we can offer a level of detail and care which not many other schools can.

Are you expensive?

We’re affordable not cheap! We make sure that when you book a driving lesson with us, you’re not then struggling to pay for things like your practical driving test or car insurance.

You really do get what you pay for when you’re learning to drive. From the moment you book your lessons right up until you get your driving licence, having a driving instructor with the expertise of over 30 years as a professional driver is a priceless advantage.

How much are driving lessons?

The cost of your driving lesson depends on the length of time you’d like to book. In the Peterborough area, most students pay over £30 per hour, however, with Papa Nick’s we offer a cheaper rate of £29 per hour.

How many driving lessons do I need?

There isn’t a minimum or maximum amount of driving lessons – everyone is different! The DVSA says that, on average, 47 hours with a qualified instructor should do it. It’s all about you practising and feeling confident on the road.

Can I have a driving lesson at 16?

The earliest you are able to legally drive a car is 17. However, you can apply for your provisional driving license (which you need before you can have driving lessons) at the age of 15 years and 9 months!

Do I need to pass my theory test before I can learn to drive?

Before you start having driving lessons, you must already hold a provisional licence. You need to pass your theory test before you can book your practical driving test – that’s when you need it most!

Will I be charged if I need to cancel?

If you cancel within 24 hours and you’ve paid for your booking, your payment will be non-refundable. But, if you let us know 2-3 days in advance, you’ll receive a full refund or you can simply re-arrange your lesson for another time.

What car will I learn to drive in?

You’ll be learning to drive in a dual-control Vauxhall Corsa 1.4! It’s a great car for first-time drivers with an easy-to-use clutch and enough power to help you familiarise yourself with all speed limits.
